Collection and Release of Information
The Iowa College Access Network recognizes the importance of respecting the privacy of our customers, applicants and Web site visitors. We want to assure you ICAN uses information gathered about you only for the limited purposes permitted by law. We collect nonpublic personal information about you from information we receive from you on request forms.
We collect only information we need relative to processing your requests and providing customers and Web site visitors with information about our products, services and upcoming events. We do not release or disclose any nonpublic personal information about you to anyone, except as permitted by law.
Our Web server automatically recognizes the Internet service providers of our Web site visitors. Additionally, we collect information about (i) Web sites from which our visitors connect to our site, (ii) the browsers visitors use, and (iii) the page(s) consumers access on our site. We compile and sort this information to develop group profiles of our Web site visitors, to assist with systems administration and to resolve problems.
We collect the electronic mail addresses of those who communicate with us via electronic mail and information volunteered by the consumer, such as survey information and/or site registrations. We do not automatically collect any of this information from our Web site visitors.
If you supply us with your electronic mail address, postal address and/or telephone number online, we may contact you or send you information about our new products and services or upcoming events.
We do not intend to collect information from children under 13 years of age. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected personal identifying information from a child under the age of 13, we will promptly take all measures to delete the data from the system.
Opt-out Policy
If you do not want us to contact you or send you information about available products or services or upcoming events, you may send us an electronic message at Webmaster@ICANsucceed.org or advise us during any telephone call we may make to you. Please provide us with your exact name and address. If possible, provide us with your name as it appears on any mailings you have received from the Iowa College Access Network.
Employee Responsibility
Each Iowa College Access Network employee is personally responsible for maintaining consumer confidence in the company. We provide training designed to educate employees about the meaning and requirements of these privacy policies. We conduct internal audits of our compliance with the privacy policies. Employees who violate these policies or other company policies and practices are subject to disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal.
Business Relationships
We expect the companies we select as our business partners and service providers to honor our privacy principles when they handle information about our customers. We do not sell or rent our customer information to any outside company or organization.
