Going to college. It's part of the American dream for 90% of students, according to the U.S. Department of Education. But just wanting to go to college isn't enough. You have to know how to actually get there, right?
That's where KnowHow2GO comes in. This national campaign tells you the steps you need to take to achieve the college dream. The ICAN is proud to be the Iowa sponsor for KnowHow2GOIowa.
So, do you KnowHow2GO?
Follow these four simple steps:
- Be a pain – in a good way. Find an adult who can help you with the steps you need to get to college. Let everyone know you want to go to college and don't stop until you find an adult who can help.
- Push yourself and don't stop. You have to take certain classes in high school to get into college. Find out which ones and make sure you take them.
- Find the right fit. Think about what you like to do. Explore colleges with programs that fit your interests.
- Put your hands on some cash. There's money out there to help you pay for college. Apply for it!
