Federal and State Grants

You are automatically considered for some grants when you file your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Each has its own requirements, however, so you may receive several grants or none at all.

  • Priority goes to Pell Grant recipients

Future Ready Iowa Grant

  • Iowa students (25 yrs and older)
  • Enrolled at eligible Iowa college or university
  • Based on financial need
  • More information

Iowa Tuition Grant

  • Iowa students
  • Enrolled at eligible private colleges and universities or business or nursing schools
  • Based on financial need
  • More information

Iowa Vocational-Technical Tuition Grant

  • Iowa residents
  • Enrolled at an Iowa community college
  • Vocational-technical or career option programs
  • Based on financial need
  • More information

Future Ready Iowa-Last Dollar Scholarship

  • Iowa residents
  • Enrolled at an eligible college or university
  • Based on financial need

Other Types of Grants

Other grants are available if you meet certain requirements. You are not automatically considered for these when you file the FAFSA, so you will need to make an effort to search and apply for them.

National Guard Educational Assistance Program

  • Active members of an Iowa Army or Air National Guard Unit
  • Must submit application to unit commander
