ICAN App School Challenge
Get Your Students Connected. You Could Be Headed to ISCA!
Get your school connected to career and college planning through the ICAN App for a chance to win one of two full registrations to the ISCA Conference in Des Moines, November 1–3.
The ICAN App School Challenge is open to Iowa school counselors through September 30.
Take the Challenge
To qualify for the drawing, school counselors must:
- Create a counselor account in the ICAN App. (Search ICAN Plans in your App Store)
- Set up a school group using your school code.
- Once your profile is complete, click the purple counselor button in your profile tab. Contact your ICAN advisor if you need your code.
- Encourage students to download the ICAN App and connect to the school group.
- Have at least 20% of the school's student population connected to the school group by September 30.
- Submit the official contest entry form by the deadline.

Why Create a School Group?
School groups help counselors connect career and college planning happening through the ICAN App with the work happening at school.
Once students connect to your school group, you can see their progress and the pathways they have selected. Students receive personalized checklists, reminders, and resources based on their grade level and pathway, helping them understand what steps to take throughout the year.
Get Families Connected, Too
Encourage parents and guardians to download the ICAN App and use Family Link to connect with their students. Family Link helps families follow along with the planning process and work through important career, college, and financial aid steps together.
Promote the ICAN App at Your School
Use your ICAN App poster included in your Counselor Resource Kit to encourage students to join. Counselors can also download and share the ICAN App promotional flyer and additional promotional posters.
Challenge Deadline: September 30
Counselors who meet the 20% participation goal and submit the official entry form will be entered into the drawing for one of two full ISCA Conference registrations for November 1–3 in Des Moines.
Challenge Verification
Completion of the ICAN App School Challenge requirements will be verified using activity within the ICAN App. ICAN will track the number of students connected to your school and school group to confirm that your school has reached the required 20% student participation goal.
Counselors who submit this form and meet all challenge requirements by September 30 will be considered qualifying entries. Two winners will be randomly drawn from all qualifying entries, with each winner receiving one full registration to the ISCA Conference in Des Moines, November 1–3.
