On Track Counselor Virtual Summit - Kick-Off to Career & College Readiness
To ensure a smooth transition into the new academic year ICAN, in partnership with the Department of Educations' Bureau of Iowa College Aid and the Iowa School Counselor Association (ISCA) present “On Track,” a series of interactive, virtual events, online resources and e-alerts to provide all high school students with a clear picture of both the tasks and timelines ahead of them. For counselors the "On Track" campaign will focus on providing the most up-to-date college planning tools, resources, and information to aid in your work with students.

School Counselor Professional Development
School Counselor Virtual Summit – Join ICAN, the Bureau of Iowa College Aid, and a panel of colleges and universities to learn the latest developments in career and college readiness and ask questions about the planning process for your students. Both sessions are interactive with a panel of presenters.

New School Counselor Bootcamp – This free add-on event to the school counselor summit will provide a step-by-step guide to those counselors brand new to the profession, outlining the role school counselors have in the career and college readiness process for high school students. This event is jointly presented between ICAN and the Iowa School Counselor Association (ISCA) and will feature a panel discussion enabling colleges and counselors to discuss and build relationships that highlight this important role.

Student/Parent Events
In partnership with Iowa College aid, events will take place both during the school day and in the evening to help student navigate important topics for planning for life after high school.
School Day Events
Class of 2025 - Setup your StudentAid.gov Accounts
Join Iowa College Aid for a step by step presentation on creating your StudentAid.gov username and password (FSA ID)! Creating an account is required for all students and parent contributors and should be done at least 1-3 days before starting the FAFSA form. Students and parents are all encouraged to attend one live session!
What you'll need to have handy:
- social security number (if applicable)
- email address (student and parent each need their own)
