The ICAN FAFSA Completion Assistance Certification Program is designed to equip counselors, mentors, and community partners with the knowledge and skills needed to guide students through the FAFSA process. This training offers comprehensive, scenario-based learning, with a focus on practical strategies to assist students in completing the FAFSA successfully.

NOTE: Sessions run from 8:30 am - 12:00 pm (virtually.)
Payment & Pricing Details
- Training and four-year certification is $50
- Online re-certification in year two, three, and four.
- Payment can be made when registering with a credit card.

Certification Details
Participants who complete the training and pass the final assessment will be ICAN Certified to assist students with FAFSA completion. This certification is valid for four years, with re-certification available after the initial period.
FAFSA Recertification: A Scenario-Based Training
The training provides participants the opportunity to refresh their knowledge and understanding of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and assistance in the completion of the form. Participants will review financial aid terms and programs, and work through FAFSA scenarios to determine the correct path for completion. This training will provide traditional, as well as more complex scenarios for participants to work through. Participants will complete an online assessment at the end of the training to earn recertification through the ICAN program.
Recertification Details
- Recertification is offered after the initial four-year certification is complete.
- Participants will complete an online assessment at the end of the training to earn recertification through the ICAN program
