Career & College Planning Seminar Offered Oct. 26
Students and Parents Encouraged to Create a Plan for Life After High School
CORALVILLE, IOWA (Oct. 22, 2015) — High school sophomores, juniors and their parents can learn about planning for career and college during a free seminar at Iowa College Access Network’s Student Success Center in Coralville. Both the program and the center are free and open to the public.
The event will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 29, at the Kirkwood Regional Center at the University of Iowa in Room 118, 2301 Oakdale Blvd in Coralville. During the presentation students and parents will receive answers to questions on topics including career exploration and assessment, academic preparation, the admissions process and requirements, college selection and campus visits, the application process, understanding costs and cost of attendance, scholarships and making a successful transition to college.
“This presentation is perfect for sophomores, juniors and parents who are just beginning to think about their next steps and are unsure of how to create a plan for life after high school,” explained Ryan Ronan, ICAN student success advisor. “The entire college process can be confusing; especially the closer students get to graduation. This program will help clear up that confusion so families know what to do.”
For attendees seeking a more personalized planning session, individual advising appointments can be scheduled following the presentation. For more information about the presentation, students and parents should contact the Ryan Ronan by calling 319-423-7701 or emailing rronan@ICANsucceed.org.
