College Raptor Partners with ICAN to Help Families Understand College Costs
New Platform Helps Families Estimate, Compare Financial Aid Offers from Colleges
CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA (March 26, 2015) — College Raptor is partnering with the Iowa College Access Network (ICAN) to bring advanced technology to improve the way families find and compare college options, and to support initiatives around the state that support college and career preparedness.
“We are pleased to be aligned with all of the great work that ICAN does throughout the state,” said William Staib, founder and CEO of College Raptor. “Our goal is to improve college access and affordability for all students. ICAN is committed to reaching all students and families in Iowa and to help them get to college. It’s an excellent partnership. Together, our technology and their expertise will empower students to make the best decisions possible about their future.”
Through its partnership with ICAN, College Raptor will provide tailored financial aid technology tools to ICAN’s nine student success centers across the state, enabling ICAN experts to work with students to discover and compare colleges based on their estimated net price, providing a more accurate representation of college costs for individual circumstances.
“ICAN is proud to partner with College Raptor in advancing career and college access readiness programming throughout the state of Iowa,” explained Rob Miller, executive director of ICAN. “We are always looking for innovative technology solutions to help students and families better prepare for college and College Raptor has developed a unique and comprehensive net price estimator. Their technology provides individual calculations based on customized inputs for each student. That customization is the key to helping students make decisions that fit their unique circumstances.”
ICAN’s programs and services are developed and presented by ICAN’s highly trained representatives on topics such as high school planning, college and career planning, financial literacy, successful college transitions and financial aid. ICAN serves more than 500,000 students and parents annually. Students are encouraged to check with their high school counseling offices for the dates, times and locations of ICAN presentations in their area or visit www.ICANsucceed.org/calendar. About College Raptor, Inc.
College Raptor builds products to help high school counselors, prospective students and parents, and college enrollment managers resolve some of the biggest challenges related to college planning, financing and enrollment. Developed by successful tech entrepreneur William Staib, in collaboration with Dr. Richard Ferguson, who served as the CEO of ACT for 22 years, College Raptor is the only college search platform that allows users to estimate their individual “net” cost for attending every four-year college in the United States. As a result, students and their families discover quality college options they might never have considered because of a lack of awareness or financial concerns based on a college’s sticker price.
