ICAN Welcomes New Student Success Advisor to Northwest Iowa
SIOUX CITY, IOWA (September 28, 2016) — The Iowa College Access Network (ICAN) is proud to announce the addition of Sean Hartnett as a Student Success Advisor in the Northwest Iowa ICAN Centers in Sioux City and Orange City. Hartnett will be responsible for working with school counselors, students, and parents on college and career planning, assisting with the financial aid and scholarship process, as well as working with students on career and college selection.
Hartnett relocated from the East Central Iowa ICAN Center in Hiawatha, taking on a new territory and two individual ICAN Centers. He came to ICAN from the University of Northern Iowa admissions office and currently serves on the Iowa Association for College Admission Counselors (Iowa ACAC). Hartnett states “I’m very excited to take on the Northwest Iowa Region. My time in Hiawatha gave me the skills and tools to help students in many facets of the college and career planning, especially financial aid. My goals are to help increase FAFSA completion and educate students in the career and college planning process. I look forward to working with the students and families in Northwest Iowa.”
Rob Miller, ICAN President, states “We are very excited to bring Sean’s experience to Northwest Iowa. Having spent time in our busiest office, Sean has acquired the experience and skill necessary to really make an impact in a one-person region. I’m confident that Sean will play a key role in providing and implementing high quality programs and solution for students, parents, and counselors in Northwest Iowa and I can’t wait to see his impact.”
