Largest Spring Fair Set for Sunday, March 24 in Cedar Rapids

CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA (March 21, 2024) — The future belongs to those who prepare for it today. With this motto in mind, the ICR Future Career and College Fair is set to take place on Sunday, March 24, 2024, from 1-3 pm at the Kirkwood Hotel Conference Center. This event promises to be the premier destination for high school students and parents in Iowa, offering invaluable insights into career paths and higher education opportunities.

The ICR Future Career and College Fair is designed to equip high school students with the knowledge and resources necessary to make informed decisions about their future endeavors. By bringing together a diverse array of exhibitors, including representatives from business and industry, apprenticeships, military services, and colleges and universities from across the country, attendees will have the chance to explore a wide range of potential career paths and educational avenues.

"This fair serves as a pivotal moment for students and parents to start planning ahead," says Brittania Morey, Vice President, Marketing and Communications. "In today's rapidly evolving world, it's crucial for students to have a clear understanding of their options beyond high school. Whether they're considering entering the workforce, pursuing further education, or exploring alternative paths, the ICR Future Career and College Fair provides the resources and guidance needed to navigate these critical decisions."

As the largest spring fair of its kind in Iowa, the event offers an unparalleled opportunity for students to engage directly with professionals and experts across various fields. Attendees will have the chance to ask questions, gather information, and gain valuable insights into the skills and qualifications needed to succeed in their chosen career paths.

The ICR Future Career and College Fair emphasizes the importance of proactive planning and preparation during the high school years. By starting the exploration process early, students can better align their interests, skills, and goals with future career and educational opportunities, ultimately setting themselves up for long-term success.

Attendees are encouraged to come prepared to explore, ask questions, and take the first step towards shaping their future. Admission to the fair is free, making it accessible to all high school students and parents in Eastern Iowa.

Students can also find suggestions for preparing for college fairs, making the most of their visits and what to do after a fair online. ICAN advises fairgoers to make a list of questions for schools and to take preprinted address labels to stick on college information cards. An additional option is the College Fair Barcode, a pre-fair service that lets students register for a personal barcode to be scanned by colleges in lieu of completing information cards.
